The purpose of catlintucker.com is to inform about using technology in the classroom. The founder, Catlin Tucker, loves blended learning. She is also aware of the problems with using too much technology which is another reason blended learning is her preference. I chose this blog because I thought it would fit perfectly with our class focusing on technology in the classroom.
The purpose of the blog mrhillmusings is to reflect, share, and to never stop learning as teachers. The blog involves advice for digital immigrants. It concentrates on flipped classrooms and technology in the classroom as well. The founder, Mr. Hill Musings, is a British teacher, but he's living and teaching in Hong Kong, so it gives an interesting perspective on teaching elsewhere. I chose this blog for that reason, and also that it centers around a digital classroom.
2E. Teachers can use blogs to update and communicate outside of the classroom to parents and/or teachers by publishing assignments, updating due dates, and overall keeping students in the know. They can also be a way to hold discussions with the teacher and students.
