Blog Basics

  • What are your thoughts about blogs?

I think blogs are a way to be more connected and have a sense of community to them. Blogs are a hobby, they are personal and it seems like a chunk of time is invested into blogs.

  • Why should you learn to "blog" as a future teacher?

Learning to blog may help me feel more connected to my students and even the parents. Creating a class blog allows students to participate if they are too timid to speak in class, and helps with group work. Blogs are also a great way to communicate with students, especially now with the virus going on. Blogs are versatile, they can be used in the classroom and outside of it.

  • Locate two examples of blogs that are used for education by teachers, students, schools or other entities.  Post links to those blogs in your post.

Two blogs I found are TeacherTube and Classroom 2.0, which are both beneficial for teachers and students.

https://www.teachertube.com/ and https://classroom20.com/

  • Why did you like or dislike these examples?

I found these websites interesting to learn about and felt that they could be very helpful in a classroom setting. While Teachertube does not directly affect students like Classroom 2.0 does, it still gives teachers ideas on what videos to use and incorporate into their curriculum.
